Owned by the Brini-Batacchi family the Hotel Degli Orafi is well known worldwide, as the setting for James Ivory’s film “A Room with a View”. The film was the winner of 3 Oscars in 1985, including the one for the best set design. This magnificent 4-star luxury hotel occupies an ancient Florentine building dating back to the 13th century, situated in the centre of the city, next to the River Arno and just a few steps away from the famous Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery.
Formerly an Augustinian convent, this building has the remains of an ancient medieval tower, later destroyed by the “Ghibellinis” in 1260. Today the tower is partly restored and you can enjoy the original frescoes of the XII century in the modern library.

When you enter the hotel you will immediately be immersed in an environment of true beauty, from the elegant newly restored lobby to the beautifully and classically furnished rooms.

From the roof terrace bar you can admire the view over the Arno River, the Georgofili Academy, the Palazzo Vecchio (the ancient residence of the Medici family), the Vasarian Corridor and the Brunelleschi’s Dome.
